Review: Wails of Torment [The Horrors of Kristy Pierson’s Childhood] by Ken Wells

3.6 stars

Kristy returns in the second book, still fleeing the hunting pack of werewolves. Although they remain a threat, a new player has entered the game: a wraith. There’s some sketchy folks around, but their intentions were blurred enough that I ended up pegging the wrong one as the trouble maker. Kristy’s development also continues as she slowly learns to cope with the brutal realities around her.

A step up from the previous episode, the pacing and interactions feel a little smoother here than last time. There’s more room to get a grip of each character and situation they find themselves in, and the tone shifts hit with more clarity.

If I’m not mistaken, the third episode was just released a few days ago, so I’ll be reading that one soon!
