Lexicon Development : Ongoing Document
I usually keep the details of my WIPs safe from big spoilers, but the Ro’tehk Lexicon is going to be the exception to that rule.
The CO4 is where all my current and future writings are hosted as part of an expansive, intertwined collection of stories. I intend each series to interlock as part of a greater plot for those who look for the shared threads, but I’m also designing every series to stand strong on its own, independent from the larger arc. I spent the majority of 2021 working out many of the kinks in that plan, but now I’m ready to tackle the first book.
Venture Imperium is the first series in my sights with Black Zone Reports as the first book. BZR is a collection of stories that follow several characters through the crisis of 2035. Between these tales are news articles and documents that set the scene of intrigue and political strife as nations struggle to hold themselves together amidst the confusion. I also hope to add art here and there throughout the pages to give life to the settings and characters. I still have a long way to go, but I’m excited to solve every new challenge.
Black Zone Reports Blurb [WIP]:
On September 13th men become monsters, thousands of acres rot overnight, and society cracks beneath the weight of terror and tragedy. The Sleepless Year has begun with a burning light in the night sky and millions left to fend for themselves against tendrils of black smoke that devour entire cities. From innocents ripped from their lives to the Imperium officers sent to contain the destruction, and from victims of strange mutations to those attempting to unravel the truth of the catastrophe; each shines new light on the day the world was forever changed.
Digital art is my second hobby, and I hope to use those skills to fill the pages of my books with emblems, sketches, and maps. I’m always tinkering with new styles, mediums, and art programs to achieve the look I’m aiming for. My Wacom drawing pad in combination with Krita have been great for sketches and looser forms of art, I’m slowly learning Blender for 3D models and animations, and Affinity Designer is quickly becoming my favorite as I pick up vector art for the first time.
